The surrounding area:
This region is dominated by vast pine forests and huge beaches.
When the wind blows inland the waves can become quite high, but
even the smallest children can play safely on the wide sandy beaches.
Vieux Boucau with its pleasant shops, boutiques and terraces is
just one and a half kilometres from the campsite. There is a freshwater
lake in the nearby town of Soustons where the children can visit
the Tropica Park. The city of Dax is not far away, and Biarritz
with its boulevard and stylish buildings is well worth a visit.
We recommend a trip along the River Adour between these beautiful
cities. A little further a field is the city of Pau, and the town
of St-Jean-Pied-de-Port at the foot of the Pyrénées,
where the pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela began their journey
across the mountain.
The campsite:
Lou Pignada is a medium size campsite situated in a shady pine forest.
The campsite has a bar, restaurant and pizzeria with a cosy outside
terrace as well as a swimming pool complex including waterslides
and an indoor pool. All of these facilities are centrally located,
making the site compact and easy to get around. There are ample
possibilities for the sportier guest, including tennis, volleyball
and football and even a fitness room with whirlpool and sauna.
